Nick Pill from RSP (Rising Sun Pictures)

Nick Pill An Advertising and design graduate from Adelaide, Nick Pill made the move from Sydney after hearing a rumour that a Walt Disney Animation Studio was in operation.

Climbing the rungs of the Disney ladder, Nick became Senior Layout Artist and Supervisor working on complex environments, character and prop design, conceptualising and storyboarding sequences, cinematic structure analysis, running teams of up to 10 layout artists, responsible for handing out, checking and approving completed scenes, oh and the everyday creative team management and administrative work.

After 14 years at Disney, Nick moved into the booming digital animation world at Animal Logic, working as Lead Environment Concept Artist on the Oscar winning film "Happy  Feet".  Here the jobs included environment and prop design, orthographics for the modeling department, colour boards for the lighting department, collating photographic reference for the surfacing department and running a team of six concept artists.  His old friend, the pencil, had by now given way to the Wacom Intuos 3 grip pen and Photoshop.

There was no going back - when the call came from Rising Sun Pictures, he relocated back to Adelaide to work on the film "Charlottes' Web" and a constant variety of projects which have included "Harry Potter 5 and 6", "The Ruins", "28 Weeks Later" and "Dark is Rising".

Nick reels in the transformation of 'old school to new tools' experiences and the integral role design and designers play in the viewers' cinematic journey.

Max and Dan from "Oh Really" magazine Sydney

Max and Dan During 2007, Max Berry and Daniel O’Toole were studying at two different art schools within the Darlinghurst area, sharing both a passion for street art and an interest in illustration. Through the establishment of local gallery ‘Rince’, Max and Dan discovered a place to meet like-minded artists, collaborate and exhibit their work. Many have since become the leaders among an emerging Sydney street art scene, working with unconventional mediums and creating artworks in public places. Rince has now closed down, yet the artists that met there have only gotten stronger and more motivated, holding several group exhibitions and gaining some impressive media coverage.
The boys now have a registered company, made a website, self publish and distribute Ohreally magazine, and are just now in the process of opening a new gallery.. where will it end.. world domination.

Don’t laugh, its possible.
